Dear CORPUS Members and Friends,

Excitement and enthusiasm have been generated by the American Catholic Council this spring. By March, over 3000 people had participated in one of the listening sessions in preparation for the council meeting. Hope has been fired by the opportunity to speak out, to be counted, to show our desire to return to gospel values unhindered by the struggle for power and authority. It’s a flame that is burning in temples, mosques, churches and city squares everywhere. It warms and enlightens us but can easily be stomped out or just die from lack of fuel and tending. CORPUS has tended these flames, along with the growning number of reform groups, and we invite you to join us in our efforts through your membership, new and renewed. United with and supported by you, we can continue the following and similar works:

We continue to publish Corpus Reports while actually reducing production cost.
We meet regularly as a Board but now utilizing free conference call services.
Two members have been very active on the planning committee for June’s ACC.
We remain active in reform movements nationally and internationally.
We are currently planning our 2012 national conference, the 24th financially independent conference since 1988.
We’ve mediated for justice in retirement for married priests in multiple dioceses.
We’ve provided current website services for members.
We’ve attempted to intervene with our moral support and financial donations in cases of societal and ecclesiastical injustices.
We have provided solace to the bereaved and seriously ill.
We have, above all, publicly banded together as a reminder to the hierarchical Church and to the faithful that there is a married clergy.We are not only ready and willing to serve, but are actually providing ministry where the institutional Church has turned its back.

Membership Renewal

CORPUS conducts its annual renewal of membership during the months of May and June.Membership runs from June of one year to May of the next. Membership not only serves as a source of great pride for the individual or couple, but also serves as a sign of hope and conviction. Please help us continue the work and witness of CORPUS by completing the enclosed renewal card. In response to members’ concerns, we have expanded our categories to meet the variety of circumstances throughout the CORPUS community. These include:

Although we stretch every dollar we receive from our membership renewal income as far as we can, these monies do not fully sustain the electronic, print and personal forums for the dialog that we provide. This is why we seek your help through donations. The additional resources that you can offer help us to participate, nationally and internationally, with other renewal groups, enable us to give you access to accurate information and stimulating articles in both Corpus Reports and Mirabile Dictu, provide for our ongoing efforts in Pension Advocacy and help us to foster a vision of Church that can be truly realized.
