Dear Friends:
It is time to consider, among the ministries we support, whether CORPUS should continue to be one of them.
We have been on a long journey with CORPUS. It has taken us from the early years when married priests and their life-long partners longed for community and communication with one another. We became en route an Association for an Inclusive Priesthood. And, in thirty-eight years of CORPUS REPORTS, we proclaimed our message and changed the minds and hearts of countless people here and around the world.
We have more to do and only you can help us do it.
We now must witness for as long as we live to a Council that gave us life and brought us Christ in a new way. We must not let the dark forces in our Church take away what the Spirit gave us. Some of us are uncertain of our cause and its future, but when we come together we find again the courage and the strength that led us to our best moments and gave us hope.
We do not believe that Vatican II can be undone.
We shall not allow the false prophets in our Church to weaken our resolve by robbing God's People of this Council.
We shall not allow some misguided men to take from us the Spirit we were given.
We shall not allow CORPUS or our priesthood and/or our marriages to become infected with the depressing declaration that reformers worked for no purpose and that the curia and the papacy matter more than the Church.
We shall not relent.
We shall not be silenced. We shall tell the world and the Church that God did something magnificent in our day and that God does not repent.
