AFFIRMING AN INCLUSIVE PRIESTHOOD, ROOTED IN A REFORMED AND RENEWED CHURCH

O'Neill, William

Bill was a long time member of CORPUS. After attending St. Mary’s Seminary in Baltimore, he was ordained for Diocese of Providence in 1982. He made the transition in 1972 and married Joan Romanelli in 1973. They had two boys, Christian and William.

After leaving the active priesthood, Bill developed a music ministry in several parishes. Rev George Behan his former Pastor, delivered the homily at his funeral mass. Many of his musical associates in the diocese attended the funeral and attested to his love of music and his musical ability. Bill found an affective means to carry on his ministry through his music and remained faithful to his calling to serve the people of God.
