AFFIRMING AN INCLUSIVE PRIESTHOOD, ROOTED IN A REFORMED AND RENEWED CHURCH

Spellecy, William

Troy, NY
August 14, 2006

Bill was ordained a priest in 1957 for the diocese of Rochester NY and for seventeen years worked as a parish priest and field education director at St. Bernard's Seminary.  He married Rosalie Saynay in 1976.  For several years he was employed by the Chicago Mayor's Office for Senior Citizens and the Handicapped.  The couple then relocated to Troy NY where he worked for 26 years at the New York State Office for the Aging in Albany.  Bill took his pastoral skills with him from the parish to his life-long work with the aging.
