Marnie Grogan Beattie-Prouty died peacefully at her eldest daughter's home on Mercer Island on December 6, 2024, she was 98. Marnie was born on June 4, 1926. She married Kenneth McKenzie Beattie on August 9, 1947 at Holy Family Church in Auburn, WA. They had eight children, Margaret Anne Dornay (Peter), Rita, Julia Fogassy (Karoly), Moira, Kenneth John (Annie), Adrienne Davio, Michael (Grace), and Shonagh Pleas (K.C.).
Marnie graduated from Auburn High School in June, 1944. After raising her family, Marnie returned to school, graduating from the University of Washington with a Masters Degree in Social Work in 1973. She worked at a convalescent home in Rainier Valley for many years, and later at the Foss Home in North Seattle.
Marnie was preceded in death by her daughter, Moira (d. 1981), her first husband, Kenneth (d. 2007), her second husband, Andrew Prouty (d. 1991), and her third husband David Gacek (d. 2023).
Marnie has 28 grandchildren; 88 great-grandchildren; 39 great-great-grandchildren; plus numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, etc.
Funeral Mass for Marnie will be at 11:00 am at St. Monica Church, Mercer Island, WA on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.

Marne and her husband Andrew (d.1991), a former priest from Seattle WA, were long time members of CORPUS and attended many national conferences.
