REST IN PEACE
Dr. Mark Beischel, age 92 years, passed away March 14th in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Dr. Mark was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Victor and Edith Beischel. When Dr. Mark Beischel moved to Chicago he was awarded a fellowship at Indiana University Institute of Child Study. In 1973, he completed his doctorate in psychology and all the requirements for private practice psychology in Indiana while working in East Chicago. For over 20 years, Dr. Mark Beischel trained in numerous areas of applied psychology throughout the United States and Canada. Dr. Mark Beischel’s career included teaching as a professor, scholarship and practicing psychology, teaching high school, prison psychologist, and private practice psychologist for over forty years. Dr. Mark Beischel began writing books, many based on his knowledge and experiences as a psychologist. Dr. Mark Beischel took great pride in being an author.
Along with his parents Dr. Mark Beischel is preceded in death by his son, Alejandro Beischel; siblings: Robert (Grace), Dave (Norma), Jack (Rose), Jane (Carl Molodetz), Fr. Tom, Fr. Dick, Sr. Lucy and Paul (Ann).
He is survived by his wife, Christine Beischel and their children: Mark Everett, Cecelia Cunningham, and Duana Pierce (Beischel); grandchildren: Richard Orth III, Clarissa Streitenberger, Hope Cunningham and Selena Streitenberger; 28 nieces and nephews who treasured time spent with him.
Funeral Mass, Friday, March 21, 2025, 10:00 a.m. at the St. Patrick Catholic Church, Council Bluffs, Iowa. Visitation with family is Thursday, March 20, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Cutler-O’Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Memorials directed by the family.
Marc ordained for the Missionaries of the Precious Blood in 1978, transitioned in 1978 and married Christine in 1993.
